Director and Four-time Emmy award winner Rick Rosenthal’s work includes several landmark wildlife series, including PLANET EARTH and BLUE PLANET, as well as dozens of natural history films over a career that spans almost five decades. Trained as a marine biologist, with 45 published scientific papers, Rick’s marine research connections represent a worldwide network, which allows him sometimes rare access to scientists fishermen and other stake-holders.

Katya is the Managing Director of Wild Logic, which she founded in 2002. Starting in 2008 she partnered with Rick Rosenthal on their first of three SUPERFISH films, about giant marlin. Katya combines expertise in assembling international coproductions with over 25 years’ experience in documentary production and international distribution. Katya’s interest in the natural world and the ancient world – she studied classics and ancient Greek as an undergraduate – come together with salmon, which were highly prized by the ancient Romans.

Kai is a Finnish-British cameraman who grew up in South Africa and now lives in Ecuador. Having trained as a wildlife game ranger, Kai is also a life-long waterman. He was introduced to wildlife filmmaking by Rick Rosenthal over 25 years ago, and has since worked on films for National Geographic, BBC and European producers. Kai is no stranger to challenging and uncomfortable situations, even if it means he sometimes has to wear shoes.

Jim Murray MBE is a British actor who features in The Crown and Masters of the Air. Beyond the screen, Jim is a fierce advocate for Britain’s rivers and the endangered wild Atlantic salmon. A lifelong fly fisherman, Murray founded Activist Anglers in 2023 to empower and educate anglers to protect their local waterways, and he is an ambassador for the Atlantic Salmon Trust. Jim also hosts the acclaimed podcast The Last Salmon which offers hope and solutions to the tragic story that is unfolding for an iconic species - the wild salmon.

Jolene is a skilled editor who excels at crafting compelling narratives through video and sound. Passionate about stories that truly resonate, her versatile work spans natural history, immersive VR, and scripted content. This commitment has led to significant international recognition, including an Emmy-nominated project and a premiere at Sundance. Jolene lives in South Africa. Just as salmon provide vital, enriching biofuel to their ecosystems, Jolene's ability to adapt to complex editing challenges is powered by her own essential fuel: a constant, copious stream of coffee.

Over her forty year career, Kate Youngdahl has written dozens of natural and social history films for clients as diverse as National Geographic, History, PBS, and ESPN. Her fertile collaboration with Wild Logic spans more than a decade and includes several ocean centered films, a fact she finds amusing since she can barely swim. An avid hiker and skier, Kate watches wildlife from her hill farm in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
